| Dear Sridhar, If you invite us to come to timbaktu also no probs we all will be there at the appointed time. Train journey are very dear to me and my late father. I have wonderful and pleasant memories spent with him on the train which has brought us more close in our relationship also. And not to say of the fight for the window seat and the truimph of acquiring the same. The lovely breeze hitting on the face and if we are more lucky a slight heavy drizzle on the face................wow how enchanting & romantic it is. The passing sceenary and a hot cuppa in our hand . Even chit chatting with the fellow passengers exchanging latest gossip etc is the ultimate. Even today I feel this is the best time for the families to come more closer. I can go on any length on this.So.... waiting for the tickets & the details of our journey..........!!!!

| Dear Lalitha, With GFs like you, I want to go to Timbaktu to see what kind of place is that. You are right, Lalitha. When we were young and travelling by train, we brothers and sisters use to fight for the window seat. In those days most of the trains in our place will be pulled by steam engine. So there is a risk of charcoal dust falling into your eyes. In spite of that we will fight for the window seat. What you have said is a very pertinent observation. A train journey strengthens the bonds within a family. If the family occupies a whole bay and then eat food in the train then they come closer. I remember travelling as a large group for my brother's wedding. We were a group of about 50 people. We also had a fight with the TTE over some ticketing issue. On the whole the experience was memorable. I have already couriered the tickets and the journey details. Eagerly looking forward to travelling with you. love, Quote:

| Hi Swetha, Focus on your studies. My writings will wait for you. But now concentrate fully on your studies. One small hint on your preparation, Swetha. Preparation for CA exams is not like running a 100 metre dash. It is a kind of marathon race. So don't run fast when you start. You'll tire out soon. Start slowly. Be observant. See the performance of those who are running before you and along with you. Slowly gather speed. Remember the marks are for what you do in the three hours of examination. The examiner will never know how long, how arduously you prepared. So relax and have a clear presence of mind. That's the greatest asset for CA examinations. Remember, if after all these things, the exam looks difficult, then it will be difficult for all the 20000 people who write the exam with you. So all the best. Take care. Quote:

| Dear Sridhar, I just love train journeys to flights. First thing is you can look out of the window and see such beautiful places in trains where as you will be seeing only clouds which look like smoke if you look out of the aircraft window. Second is the fare you get- you now know what all things are available. Third is our co passengers would treat us in a humane way and the attendant would really make you feel good. In a flight, the hostess or steward would not even give you a glance and co passengers would treat you as if you are a beggar. (I have travelled a few times by air and had experienced this kind of treatment). My first journey alone with my hubby was to Madurai by the Vaigai Express for our honeymoon. We ejoyed the journey thoroughly- hubby eating all that came by and me enjoying the scenery outside. And you are related to R, I am sure. He always collects 5 Rs. and 10 Rs. bills as soon as we plan a journey- just for theeni on the journey. This saves me from the burden of preparing food, carrying it and serving. I say burden because, even if I make the best tasting food, he would invariably buy so many things from the train and also from the major stations when the train stops there. I would prefer a longer journey, what do you say? |
