| There is a big community of women of Indian origin in the Wasington DC Metro area (includes Maryland and Northeren Virginia). I have been living here for 4 years and would love to interact with other Indian women here through this forum. This is one of the biggest community of Indian in the USA, mostly comprising young professionals working for the govt and in the IT sector. If any help is needed, I would be more than happy to moderate the sub-forum. --------- I noticed that the the Washington subforum is actually for Washington DC Metro area. The confusion occurs because all the other US sub-forums are named by city. Washington, on the other hand, is a state on the western coast. Washington DC is the name of the city you are referring to. Please change the name of the forum to "Washington DC". Last edited by Sonum : 30th June 2007 at 09:45 AM. Reason: there is a sub-forum but its not correctly named |

| Hi Sonum, Thank you for pointing that out that difference. I have changed it to say Washington DC. We definitely need help! Can you please help in keeping this sub-forum very active? You can start discussions specific to DC area and also participate in other threads in keep the discussion lively. Please invite your friends in DC area to join IL as well so that you help build a critical mass of DC members in IL. Look forward to your active contribution Sonum.

| Hi Snegithi, That is a great idea. One caveat, once we add a sub-forum and if it is inactive, then it creates not so good impression about our site for an onlooker. If we open up a sub-forum for Washington DC, do you feel that we can get to about 25 threads or so in a month? Can you help us in cheerleading (starting new discussions or keeping existing discussions active) that sub-forum until it can sustain on its own? It would be very helpful if you can. Look forward to your response. Thanks Snegithi. |

| Sure, I would be glad to do that, and when we have new friends in the same area I think there would be hell a lot to discuss.....I will be there to keep the sub-forum active...What do you all say DC iLites????

| Jey, When you say "DC Area" it coves the northern part of Virginia , Washington DC and Some parts of Maryland. This is how even the metro works here...If you see I reside in the northern part of VA, hence I come under "DC Area" , I am more used to "DC Area" than VA...Hence i would appreciate if you will also include Northern VA.... Thanks, Sri
