    The Four Goals of Life

The four goals of human endeavor or motivating factors are:—

    1. Dharma — the pursuit of right living, virtue and duty to ourselves and society.

    2. Artha — profession, material prosperity, power, security and wellbeing, all of which must be based upon the codes of ethics taught in Dharma.

    3. Kama — recreation, pleasure, aesthetics, sense gratification.

    4. Moksha — liberation from the cycle of births and deaths (transmigration).

The ideal Hindu life embraces all these four aims in balanced measure and all being firmly based on the principles of duty and properness (Dharma). For most people living in modern society there are only two aims — material prosperity-power and pleasure, hence the pervading feeling of alienation and lack of meaning in life. In order to achieve the most complete earthly happiness all these four paths have to be in harmonized and integrated into our lives. Dharma and Moksha add meaning to our earthly existence and differentiate us from the animal realm.

    Hi,

Have you seen Hanuman/Anjaneyar/Bhajrang Bali like this, in lying/sleeping posture?

The ‘Sleeping Hanuman’ is one of two idols only of Lord Hanuman that are in the reclining position in all of India. one in Khuldabad and the other in Allahabad, have his darshan!

Those who visit this Hanumanji on Saturdays with faith, He heeds to their plea, fulfills their wishes and bless them.

    Jai Hanuman!!!

    Madya Kailas temple Adyar Madras

    “Adhyantha Prabhu”

All of us have heard of Ardhanareeshwara, Shakaranarayana, Harihara, but have you heard of ADHYANTHA PRABHU.

The word Aadhi and andham has become Adhyantha which means beginning to end. In tamil there is a saying " begin with Pillayar and end up with Anjaneyar. The temple has become famous for its unique idol of "Adhyantha Prabhu", which is part Ganapathy and part Anjaneya. The right side is Ganesh and the left Hanuman.

Pillayar and Anjaneyar are called as twins, since Lord Sanishwar does not have any influence or hold on these two greats. Devotees pray here to get rid of Saturns illeffects.

This temple is called as Madhya Kailash because it is between Kaasi (north kailas) and Rameswaram (south kailas). On Vinayaka Chaturthi day, the rays of the sun fall on the presiding deity (Ananda vinayakar), striking an auspicious note. Since Vinayaka is the form of the first sound "Om", eight bells have been installed. They represent the seven notes Sa, Ri, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni, with the eighth bell signifying the Sa that follows.

If you happen to visit Chennai, go and get blessed by "Adhyantha Prabhu" - two in one!

Jai Hanuman/see the pictures and the idol closely, all the best!/chitra.g

Note:- People who do not have facilities to do the rites to your beloved or ancestors, this temple has a novel facility. on payment? should book in advance!

Lord Vinayaka himself takes on the onus of propitiating the ancestors. Every afternoon, the priest has a bath and in his wet clothes begins the rites. He takes the Darba garb, earlier placed at the Anandavinayaka idol’s feet and goes to the shrine of Lord Vishnu. From there he takes the white rice offered to the Lord and comes to the Siva shrine. There the rice transforms into the "Pindam". The rice "Pindam" is taken from the Surya shrine and offered to the crows on a platform. People of all caste and creed can avail of this service.
