It is a lullaby to which the devotees feel ayyappa goes to sleep. this is played btw 10-10.30 in the night before the temple doors close.

My husband is a ardent ayyappan devotee. Last year my children both my daughter and son had the blessings of ayyappa, had witness this at the temple. My son loves this song. he learns slokas/songs only if he knows the meanings. so I am forced to find out.

Shanti- I checked out the link, is valuable with meaning of Harivarasanam. Thanks, have been hearing this song for years.Got the meaning only now.

thanku for the fabulous link which i could open only today, so frustrated i was then when i saw vidya's translation i was very happy and now ur link opened and my what an enlightenment of the song and its meanings....i have always loved aiyappa and wanted to visit him but never could...so this tour has been great for me.....keep it up post some more if u have on other temples too....regards sunkan

I can understand what you mean, about the wish to visit. somehow, i have managed to send my daughter when she was going to be 11during our last vacation.(it was a luck that I could send her before the scandal, I believe it was ayyappans sitham.) My son and husband are planning to go this vacation also.
will keep posted about other temples. My father in law is always on spiritual tours and tells us about temples at so many places.
