Thanks for the info Sharada. According to our Maharashtrian calender, it falls on the 7th of May 2008.May 8th is Vinayak Chaturti....

I think your suggestion of selecting the jewellery beforehand and making the payment on AT day is excellent!!
I can now plan my shopping for two days!!!!!!!!!!

You are most welcome. For the tamilians the vinayaka chaturthi comes during September. So as per the tamil panchankam May 8th is the AT day.
