In the US it falls on the 7th of May. This is according to the calendar based on PST.

Thanks a ton for the wonderful info on Akshaya Thirithiya. We selebrate it each year by buying some gold ornaments, infact its a compulsion to buy on this day rather than on Diwali.
Thanks for the detailed info and I am very thrilled since 8th May is my hubby's b'day .

Also the info about Uppu .I knew that salt jar should never get empty but the religious aspect came into view today. Thanks Sharadha.And wish you a Happy Akshaya Thirithiya
