Oh Varuna, the Rain-God Whose stature is as vast as the ocean. We have come to you begging for a favour. You should without hiding anything Enter the depths of the ocean Take water from there And with ferocity climb up the sky There blackening like the Primordial First One, Vishnu, the very beginning of this Universe And glow like His glorious Chakra And Thunder like His conch Which adorn the beautiful and the mighty shoulders Of Padmanabha, the God having a lotus at His navel, And after that like his bow Sarngam, Which showers a rain of arrows on His enemies Oh, Varuna, you should send showers! That we may live on this earth And have the sacred markazhi-bath! I tried to load the audio file several times. But could not load it. So... regards, Varalotti

Dear Varalotti sir, A spl thanq to u 4 this week's song.. All we need is to click on a button only. I am always stunned at this possiblility. Also very happy to c ur posting yet another beautiful song which will be chanted by us with some help though... Once again thanq soooo much to u immensely for the efforts u have taken 4 all these slokams n post them along with the translation of chanting em. May that Boodhevi give u the power to ur contionuous flow of Tiruppavai songs 4 all of us....
Dear Varalotti, As always, a very eloquent translation. You are pardoned for the delay. And the chanting is inspiring too. We are blessed to have you as the parrot echoing Andal's words. Thank you! Dear Teja, Another beautiful picture! You complement Varalotti's Thiruppavai work perfectly. Thank you! looking for more, Vidya
Thanks Teja! Dear Teja, Thanks for those very kind words. This thread is being jointly managed by both of us, Teja. While you provide the visuals, I provide the audio and the script. The picture you have posted this week is really very good. This song is very special as it talks about the very process of rain. And in every case Aandal compares it to Kannan. His bow, the sudharshana chakram in his hand, the conch and even the colour of the clouds resemble that of the Lord. While the clouds bless us with rains, our Lord blesses us with His love. Both are essential for us to live. Thanks once again, Teja. varalotti
Thanks Vidya! Dear Vidya, You were the only one to notice the missing thread and ask about it. Thanks for pardoning me. To be a parrot constantly echoing Aandals words is a rare blessing. Thanks Vidya for the words, Varalotti
Thanks Laxmi! Dear Laxmi, Thank you very much for posting the audio files. I tried several times but did not succeed. I think Aandal wanted your share of kainkaryam in this great work. Thanks once again, sridhar
Requesting Leave Of Absence! Most Gracious ILites, Greetings from Varalotti. Owing to some professional and writing commitments I am now constrained to take a short break from IL. As of now I cannot say how long will I be away. But I am hopeful it might not be longer than a month. If you want to reach me during this absence you are most welcome to pm me. I will definitely read your messages. I always maintain a five minutes swtich-gap between one task and another, whether the tasks are professional, personal or related to writing. I will use that time to read your pms and reply to them if called for. In addition to fulfilling my commitments I will also use the time to re-organise my materials, to organise my thoughts so that when I come back after a gap, I will have some thing new, some thing fresh to share with you. I will try to change the wine; but if it is not possible, rest assured, I will at least change the bottle. With the kind of affection I have been enjoying from you all along I am sure that you will bear with me for this absence. With love and affection, Varalotti
