Mil-your style!!!!!

Hello Friends...

We have all experienced the sweet, sour, hot ,tangy , bitter flavors

of mIls - from ours and those around us...

Ultimatey (may be after 25 years) one day what sort of MIL would u like

to be?

What efforts in relation building would u like to lake from your end ?

I'm not mom yet, but in case I have chance to be MIL, would like to be sweet one, considering my bad experience

1. Would respect DIL for who she is and never forget that being a woman myself, I should guide her throughout and be a good friend
2. Would never give her a hard time in anything
3. Would feel that she is Lakshmi in our house
4. Would always treat her equal to my daughter(if I have one) and never discriminate
5. Not expect her to do anything for me or my DH. Just take care of her husband and kids nicely.

I also dont have children yet. But if I did have kids, all I would want is that their spouses should love them. Just as I would love my kids, I would not ruin their happiness by breaking up their marriage through interference.

I thought I will add my inputs as the thread grows

I shall let my Dil be her own self-no mouding her to suit my son or my family- She is a person -not clay.

Let them lead their own lifes- do their own things -follow their dreams-

have their own spats-make their own mistakes-

STRICTLY NO INTERFERENCE.

Even if we have to share the same roof at some point, I shall do the

vanishing act when they need their privacy...

my style - no interference but will lend my hand if needed!

if she shows love & is friendly towards me i will also reciprocate the same!

if she maintains some distance then i will act accordingly.

but my expectation from her wud be to show some respect & to have some soft - corner for us. if we are deprived of this then i wud say 'go for thani kudithanam'.

we[me & dh] are independant & still having wonderful life to live at the old age also ...dont want to lead a miserable life with all tiffs. better live alone & take care of atleast your family well. that will do.

as things are not like b4 ..nowadays exposure & knowledge , & source availability are more ...no need for guidance & all. iam not too orthodox & wont insist in following traditions & rituals much. totally she can have a complete freedom.
