Question One Good Thing about your MIL

Hello All,
Let me first tell that this website is a my "Best friend" where I can share my
Views, happiness, sorrows, feelings without hesitation, just rely on this at any time, without fear or having any second thoughts.

I am married for more than 8yrs and have 2 boys.
I am working too...
At home (without pay and any regards) and at office (Off course, I get paid!!)

As everybody else I too went thru lot of problems in my life because of my MIL.
To me my MIL is 'Monster-in-law'.

But sometimes I feel that we always criticize our IL's and can't we find one good thing about them.

They are also human; they will also have both good and bad qualities.
But we always see the bad things in them. Can't we see any good thing about them?
MIL being elder to us, they have more experience in life and they have learnt so much.

I just want to see that can we adopt one good quality/character from her.

So let me write about her -- She is a good manager in the house.

Hello Friends,
To best describe about my relationship with IL.......am jus getting addicted to IL day by day...........

I went thru the different views about inlaws by our friends.

About my MIL its not one thing good but, EVERYTHING IS GREAT ABOUT HER.

Am really proud to have a MIL like her.I admire her a lot for all her qualities. She is the best homemaker in the world.I learn every small thing from her.My cooking style has also changed like her.Not only in cooking for everything my MIL has remedy with her. from cooking to money matters..........beauty tips to home decors she has ideas.

But one thing i like to share with u friends, even before marriage i had a intention in my mind that my In laws are my second parents. They have concern for me and whatever they say will be for my good. With this mindset i got married and with god's blessings i got the world's best inlaws. In fact its also true that i changed certain things and it only increased the closeness between them and me.My one more best friend in my family is my Sis-in-law. I really enjoy being with her.Even though we are in US we chat daily with my inlaws but still am longing to be with them.

Thanks,
Shantha KasiArunachalam

Dear all,

It is 30 years since I got married. I loved my MIL then and even now. But she is nomore and I miss her all the time more than my mother.
I never knew what a proper kerala nair family life was, till she showed me. I was born and brought up in chennai. The way of celebrating birthdays, festivals etc , I learnt from her. But she went off soon .
Like Shantha said my SILs and co sisters are my best frinds even now. I still enjoy their love and affection.
Love
Latha

Good idea,Puni88.

My MiL has many good traits. Most important is her determination. Three years back, she underwent serious surgery and developed Steven Johnson's syndrome. Recovered from the acute illness, underwent painful physiotherapy and recovery- is now leading a full life. Her 'never say die' attitude is worth emulating.

hi everyone,

cheer up vins,

i guess u are in a joint family, and since i have been myself in a joint family, i agree with your thoughts currently. But life will definitely brighten up(atleast for you) if you take a positive attitude to it. Though i married with the mindset that my IL would be my second parents, frankly speaking, I never got back the warmth i thought i would get. and i dont have any regrets either.

Be positive, But atleast i go to sleep each day with a clear conscience.

her good trait: she can talk for hours and hours without even noticing if the other person is off to sleep, or has left, or has developed a headache. and also not know what she started talking about and what she was discussing now. :icon_frown:

regards
hems

Hi Shantha, good that u r getting close with yr MIL. I hope u don't have sister-in-laws or no-one from your MIL side expecting anything from your husband.

Wink Re: One Good Thing about your MIL

Hi Kavitha,
jus now saw ur msg.I do have one sis-in-law and i have also mentioned in my post that she is my best friend.I do believe that there is nothing wrong in a sister expecting from a brother. If we have a brother we do expect lots of things from him (esp.that he should not change after his marriage). The same is from our husband's side also. This is how i take my life and luckily i got my sis-in-law as a close friend for me.

Best regards,
Shantha Kasi
