சின்னஞ்சிறு இடத்தில் தோன்றி
சல சல வென்று நீரோடையாக மாறி
காடு மலை எல்லாம் குதித்து ஓடி
மேல் இருந்து கீழ் இரைச்சலுடன் பாய்ந்து
அகலமான பாதையில் ஆவேசமாக ஆடி
கல்லும் முள்ளும் குத்த தட்டு தடுமாறி ஓடி
மண்ணோடு கலந்து கழிவு நீரோடு கலந்து
கடல் அரசனை அடையும் வரை
நதி படும் பாடு பெரும்பாடு .

பெண்ணாக பிறந்து வளர்ந்து
மழலை பருவத்தில் துறு துறு என ஓடி
குமரி பருவத்தில் துடிப்புடன் ஆடி
மணப்பெண் ஆனதும் கல கல என சிரித்து
வாழ்க்கை எனும் பாதையில்
இன்பமும் துன்பமும் கலந்து அனுபவித்து
சம்சார சாகரத்தை கடக்கும் வரை
பெண் படும் பாடு பெரும் பாடு

Thank you for the post.
Water is elixir of life. Civilization started at river banks. Woman is symbol of life. Every living thing is out of a mother. Anything Divine has always been equated to Women in our culture. Mother land, Mother tongue, Holy rivers.
Reminds me of Vairamuthu's lyrics "Nadhiye,nadhiye kaadhal nadhiye,neeyum Penn thane " in the film Rhythm.
As the Sage poet ThiruValluvar aptly puts it , Water ,which is the main source for cleansing the physical entity , can only be compared to honesty which is the main identity of one's mental purity.
If we take this equation further, the woman who is like water, cleanses a person with whom she comes in to contact, both in physical and mental plane. That is by showing and showering selfless Love and affection, either as gentle as a stream or as fiercely as a flash flood .

Water in the form of river has changed course of many a million lives and culture from the beginning. Likewise the Love of the woman has changed forever the lives of so many .
When we see so many atrocities done to women now a days, feels like a Jeeva nadhi is left to become a ditch and much more painful to dry . Even then they take the sand out of that dead river and try to destroy her forever. Just like that they do harm women and also blame them for being the reason to it. Pathetic.
But this will not be forever. All that it takes a river to start flowing again is an abundant Rain. Once it showers from over there will be no one to dare oppose its huge current. Just like that , all it takes a woman to reveal her true strength is acknowledging her importance and love, the Divine blessing and support from loved ones. If she has them on her side , then no stopping her from achieving the goals.
