this is a sweet made of moong dhal and chenna dhal and jaggery.

    ingrediants: 1cup chenna dhal
    1cup moong dhal
    1cup jaggery
    1 tsp cardoman powder
    cashew and raisins for taste
    according to indidual's liking
    1 tbl spoon of ghee

method: first moong dhal and channa dhal have to be soaked in water for 2 hours and have to be ground in mixie or grinder to a batter.this batter should be steamed like idlis in the idli plates for 10 to 15minutes till it is cooked well.these dhal idlis have to be kept aside till they are cooled to room temperature and later they have to be put in dry grinder and just in few rotation the idlis would form soft, coarse powder.

then in a thick pan jaggery with a qr cup of water to be taken and heated.when the jaggery dissolves it has to be filtered to remove any dust or impurities. later the jaggery syrup should be heated to such a level that it forms a thick syrup.( when you drop the syrup with a spoon it should drip in two strings. another method of trying is when you :) put a little jaggery syrup in a little water it should not dissipate but should stand in the water like a bead.that is the stage at which you have to switch off the stove) .remove the jaggery syrup and add little by little to the dhal powder till all the syrup and powder get mixed. add cardoman powder and ghee roasted cashew and raisins. this should be kept aside till it is totally cooled and then transfer in a air tight container. this will stand even for 3 days minimum though it is made of dhal.

this sweet is a traditional sweet made for diwali and rich in nutrition as it has high protein with iron and other minerals.

    a very tasty, easy sweet.

try this and give feed back.

    Happy,sweet, healthy nutritious diwali!:)
