Cake in Idli Cooker

    Hi,

    Just Saw in Big bazaar ,Pillsburry Choco Idli cake mix which can be steamed in idli Cooker.

    I want to know traditional Cake recipe which Can be steamed in idli Cooker.

    Please share if u tried .

    In a cooker add a pack of salt and heat it for
    15 mins with the lid on, but gasket shout be removed, then make the cake batter as in the above blog and place the cake in the cooker above the hot salt and cook for 35 to 40 mins in sim or low flame .

    I know only Eggless cake you check normal egg cakes in the net and do like above, also if you don't want chocolate cake just leave the cocoa part powder and add maida n make vanilla cake :)

    I also saw pillsbury choco idly cake mix in supermarket...want to try it. How does it taste, is it worth trying?

    Thanks , But M lookinng for typical one.. Steaming .. Sand /Salt moethod I tried previously , n its worked properly..

    No I didnt bought .. I just saw.. It will definitely taste good.. I have previously tried Cooker Cake mix from pillsburry .. It came out well... So just looking for Cake recipe if it can be steams in Idli Cooker..

    I don't think you can steam a cake in idly steamer it wonot be a cake then :)

    I tried this recipe in normal steam cooker without egg. it came well. instead of egg i added little maida..

    I m not sure.. I have seen that in Big bazaar.. Its not costly though but wanna try with available stuff at home..

    yes i too make it in cooker and it came out well.
    just have to add oil and water and it comes so spongy and yummy.....wow..
