Hi my dear cake-lovers....bakers, eaters, decorators everybody loving cakes!!! I want to surprise my dearie dearie Aunt on her birthday with a proper iced cake. I do bake cakes well, no issues with that. But my icing goes wrong somewhere. It has been ages since I actually iced a cake. I always prefer making icing with icing sugar inctead of butter cream or royal icing for my basic cake decoration. Anyone out there to please guide me on how to make a decent consistency icing using icing sugar? Would really appreciate. Thanks
My daughter makes icing with cold liquid whipping cream. She takes a metal bowl, keeps it in the fridge to chill. Then with an electric beater, whips cream. Once it starts to cream, she adds little icing sugar. Once the icing cream is done, keeps in the fridge for a while before putting on the cake. If you are looking for a non-melting icing cream, she is suggesting to use cream cheese with icing sugar. hope this helps.
for icing cake-1 whipping cream-150gms sugar syrup-2cups essence(ur choice)-1/2tsp colour(acc to the essence)-few drops 1.whisk the whipping cream with electric beater till it becomes stiff & forms peaks. 2.add the colour and essence into whipping cream and mix well 3.slit the cake into 3layers 4.take the final layer.sprinkle sugar syrup then apply whipping cream on top of the icing 5.place the middle layer and the same as the bottom layer 6.then place the top layer and sprinkle sugar syrup and icing on top 7.now put the icing on all sides.add the decoration on top with cherries, chocolate etc
Made the cake but could not get the icing right as there was umexpected power cut and hence could not get the icing to chill before piping it out. I did manage to get the weave pattern, but it just did not set. Thank you for the tips and better luck next time!!! With the soft icing, the kids had a blast licking it off their fingers.
