ONAM SPL!!! -Nei Payasam

    Ingredients
    Rice - 1/2 cup
    Green gram dhal - 1/2 cup
    Jaggery - 3 cups
    Ghee(Nei) - 1/2 cup
    Cashewnuts - 1/4 cup
    Raisins - 2 table spoons
    Sugar candy (kalkandu) - 2 tablespoons
    Coconut gratings - 1.2 cup

    Method
    1. Wash the rice thoroughly with water and keep aside
    2. Heat a pan and fry the greengram dhal till it turns light brown and nice aroma arises
    3.Pressure cook the above dhal with rice in a cooker adding 2 cups of water
    4. Meanwhile, dissolve jaggery with enough water and heat it. Filter this to remove the dust in jaggery
    5. Open the cooker and add the jaggery syrup. Keep stirring continuously
    6. Start adding ghee as and when you stir. Add ghee until it is not sticking to the vessel bottom
    7. Heat the ghee in a pan to fry the cashewnuts and raisins.
    8.Add them to the payasam.
    9.Add the sugar candy and coconut gratings also.
    10.Mix well and serve
