Hi there, I have been using sakthi masala's sambar powder and chilli powder in my daily cooking and am happy with it. When cooking biriyanis or any other gravies I wonder which brand could be used so that the dish gets an extra taste. Of course, the main taste lies in mixing the right quantity of ingredients at the right time. But still am curious to know about the special brands for special dishes. Can you guys share some brands that used give good taste and flavours in various dishes? Like they say CBR chilli chicken masala gives a good taste for chilly chicken. Pls list out the dishes and the brand of masala powders used for cooking as I want to include them in my cooking to make my dishes more palatable.

hey..i have tried aachi for both rasam and sambar..but only rasam its ok.then sakthi's curry powder is very tasty for both veg and non veg gravies..
I have been using Everest masala for north indian subzis and curries. For sambar and rasam powder try mallika badirnath`s powder. Nothing can beat the taste. I once tried one particular brand of rasam powder sorry I don`t remember the brand name. That powder smelled of fennel seeds. From that time I vowed never to use commercial rasam powders.I am making my own rasam powder these days.Sakthi and aachi rasam powders contain garlic. So I am not fond of them.
I use my own recipe for Sambar powder;Grand sweets-rasam powder and vattakolambu powder is simply awesome. Then Everest brand powders for North indian dishes.
The most famous brands I use are sakthi masala for veg dishes and Everest masala for north indian ones.
I like Everest Kasuri Methi, Channa Masala, Kitchen King and mango powder. In Aachi, the chicken masala is very good. Just add a spoonful to your regular chicken curry and it adds a zing to the dish! The MDH chilli powders are great. I find the Sakthi garam masala is very pungent and makes the dish very dark in colour.
im using my own sambar powder( mom's special) and rasam power (thanks to chitramma) for those dishes... for biriyani also , i do the same...... if u want malabar biriyani, then go for eastern biriyani masala....their chicken masala is also good.... garam masala, i roasted and powderd im my kitchen.......
