The recipe I got from the net and after trying once, I became a fan of this cake.

The recipe is very easy to remember and make and also the cake is rich in calories:hide:

The recipe follows in the next post.

I usually triple the recipe to fit my 9*13 inches cake pan.

    Here is the recipe
    Ingredients:

    Maida 125 gms

    Butter/vegetable oil 125 gms

    Sugar 125 gms

Eggs 3 no's( separate egg yolks and whites in two bowls )

    Baking powder 1/2 tsp

    Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp

    cocoa powder 3 tsp

    Method:

    1.Preheat the oven for 5 minutes at 180C/ 350F

2.Mix maida and baking powder , sieve twice and keep aside.

3.Beat sugar and butter to a smooth consistency.

4.Add egg yolks and beat very well

5.Add vanilla essence and again beat well

6.Stir in sieved flour at a low speed.

7.Beat egg whites in another bowl to a fluffy cream(eggs should be at room temperature and the bowl shouldn't have any oil because the egg won't get beaten well)

8.Now stir in the beaten egg whites to the above batter and mix it well.

    9. Now divide the batter into two equal portions.

10.Make a paste of cocoa powder with little water and mix the cocoa paste to one portion of the batter.

    11. Grease the tray with oil and take each spoon of batter from both the portions and pour one over the other alternatively until all the batter is over.

12.Using a fork start drawing lines on the batter to get a running design of chocolate and vanilla.

13.Bake it for 30 to 35 minutes , check with a tooth prick if it comes out clean, then the cake is done.

    14.Let it cool and enjoy.
