Coconut Sooji cake (eggless)

    Coconut Sooji Cake....(a recipe from net)

    Recipe:

    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 cup maida
    3/4 cup sugar
    1+ 1/4 cup sooji/rava
    3/4 cup milk
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp vanilla essence

    1. Preheated oven for 20 min
    2. Mix baking powder, maida and sugar ( i used mixie)
    3. To this dry mixture add sooji, coconut,milk, essence and butter.
    4.Whisked well with an egg beater.
    5. Greased the cake tin with butter.
    6.Tfr. the cake batter into the cake tin.
    7. Baked for 35 min.

    i havent heard of "Basboussa" if you can please can you post the recipe.

    I got this recipe from the net.

    BASBOUSSA is the name and it is the arabic version of the indian suji ka halwa....available at all sweetmeat Arabic stores.
    They garnish it with crushed green pistas.

    Looks very delicious. will surely try it out. It is similar to an Arabian sweet called Namoorah or Basboosa, but no coconut. Thanks for posting with the picture dear. YUMMY!!!

    Looks yummy ..... :) I have just baked a chocolate cake, I wish I had seen this post before I would have tried this cake first but will definitely try this one little different. thanks for sharing the photos :)
