Hi, About me: I am working women, I love to cook and its my passion, now recently started to click my recipes, my favourit chef are Damu and our chitvish. Usually i prepare a main meal and side dish on morning and i pack the same for luch and in the evening i prepare dinner, hence cook twice daily. Apart from cooking different variety i have a eye on healty food, which is more important to all. From last week i have a small plan (Challenge) that i will not repeat my Lunch menu for atleast a month. I know it is easies thing if we track our menu daily. Magee

hi Magee, nice thread. This will be helpful if people put their ideas here, menu of the day how they manage. I am not working. I have a 3yr son. Everyday i pack lunch and breakfast both for my husband. I cant cook anything in night for the morning he never likes that. So i plan like this, one quick cooking and another easy but little spicy and better. Today i cooked vegetable noodles for breafast and lemon rice with spicy aloo without gravy for lunch. Yesterday i cooked dhokla with green chutney for breakfast and paratha with simple fry vegetable for lunch. take care, Padma
I am a housewife, and i think being recently married; planning our meals is my biggest headache. My husband likes variety and i am looking for nutrition. Combining both and making sure there isnt repetition is at times a messy situation for me. On top of that packing breakfast and lunch for my hubby early in the mornings is also something i used to dread. But now i plan my meals 2-3 days in advance and i find it more smooth sailing. I love the idea of sharing our menus, atleast we get an idea from the others. Well this is my menu for the day Breakfast-Horlicks + Fruit + Masala Idli (prepared with left over idlis from yesterday's breakfast; adding a dash of chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, tomatoes, onions; and tempered with coriander leaves, mustard seeds and lemon juice) Lunch- Pav bhaji (just to surprise my husband) Tea - chicken cabbage sandwithc (with brown bread; my husband is more like an angry bird when he gets home and i need to keep something solid everyday to cool him down) + tea Dinner - Mattar Paneer + Jeera Rice whats cooking in the others' kitchen?
Hi everyone, I will introduce myself. I am a working woman who likes to cook fresh for every meal. I get up early morning and prepare breakfast and lunch. Later in the evening I prepare dinner. We shop weekly once for perishables(milk, veg, etc) and monthly once for other basics. So every weekend after shopping, we plan menu roughly which I think helps a lot. I try to focus on traditional food combinations for optimum health. Today's menu.. Breakfast: Lapsi Ghee Milk halwa with a hint of jaggery and elaichi, 3 walnuts Mid Morning Snack: fruits Lunch: Khichidi with carrots and peas, alu paalak methi, curd Teatime: Ginger Elaichi Chai and some murmura(puffed rice with peanuts) Dinner: Chicken curry with rice, cabbage poriyal. Hope you have a good day!

Lapsi - Health benefits Hi, I am listing few health benefits of Lapsi (Broken wheat). It is made from whole wheat hence it carries good amount of nutrietiant and fibers. It is also a good source of iron, magnesium and phosphorus. Lapsi is more nutritious than rice, as it caries more fibre. Few more points: improve haemoglobin in the body keep the heart healthy energise the body clean the body due to the rich fibre in it keep the nerves healthy maintain good eyesight prevent breast cancer prevent gallstones protect against childhood asthma reduce risk of high blood pressure reduce risk of diabetes reduce risk of high cholesterol maintain high blood levels prevent constipation What more you want from this :cheers Magee:thumbsup
