if you are feeling bloated after full meals or your stomach is upset you can have the following podi mixed with rice, ghee/sesame oil.
This is my mother`s preparation handed over by her elders. Some contents may vary from other forms.

    Angaya podi

    dhaniya - 1 tbsp
    black pepper- 1 tsp
    cumin seeds- 1 tsp
    chundaikal vathal-1 tsp
    dried neem flowers- 1 tsp
dried curry leaves- 2 tsp or more
    asafoetida - 1 pinch
    salt - as per requirement.

Dry roast the above ingredients separately except salt. After cooling grind the contents smoothly in blender.

children may not like the taste. If you reduce the amount of pepper it can be given to children.Add a little more ghee to the rice and give to children.

When I googled I found that chundakkai vathal is called turkey berry/dried pea aubergine in English. I also read that it is available online in some agencies. Not sure.
