I am looking for the indian name (tamil/malayalam/hindi) for Quinoa. I have read about the enormous health benefits of Quinoa and that makes me beleive that we should have the same in India . PLs let me know.

Quinoa orginated in Africa but has also been used in South America. It is not native to Asia and so I would say that there is no Indian name for the same. You could ask for it by its english name in the superfood stores and see if they have heard about it. I would say that metro cities should have them now since they have become popular in the past couple of years.
The closest to a nontrue grain like Quinoa would be Ragi (finger millet).

I tried to find what is Quinoa in Tamil but of no use. Seeing the picture of Quinoa, I guessed it is Foxtail millet [Thinai] and bought it. Think I'm wrong. Quinoa is something different.
Can I get Quinoa in Chennai?

quinoa is available in nuts and spices and other shops like browntree or spencer hypermarket,velachery (has loads of gluten free stuff) but very costly.
