thanks shruti, generally i make green in such cases only.not batter then soaking doesnt take much time and morning we can have a breakfast item ready to prepare. As in my earlier posts in this thread I use wheat utapam as also one of the emergency breakfast. mixing wheat flour with water and all normal utappam ingredients and method. You will get a instant tasty breakfast. I use ragi flour in place of wheat flour some times.
Hi Anvitha, Nice idea..but does Ragi uttapam come out well? it sticks to the tava very fast na...I mean can you roll the batter over the tava nicely? Shruti

Ragi will not stick ,The way while you are preparing ragi dosa. My cam is not working else I would have taken photographs and shared. why i use ragi means my dh likes eating ragi , jawar recipes much. ragi batter should not be watery, even the wheat flour too should not be very watery for the utappam to come out well . I will just add salt, jeera, finely chopped onions, red chilli powder /green chilis finely chopped.(I prefer red chilli powder) to the ragi/heat batter pour it on non stick pan and then dosas or utappams ready. Batter will be bit thick so please spread evenly on the pan wheat one is I learnt from my mom and iam eating it from my childhood. i tried with ragi for my dh
