Thanks Mithy.. I was not following 1-4 also.. so you can imagine how bad my chicken briyani was... Yesterday night I was very tired... I didnt eat rice for 2 days...So I just tried a new rice dish, it came very very good... You know arisiparuppu sadham?? (pressure cook rice with toordhaal). I added 1/4 toor dhal 1/4 cup moong dhal and 1/4 cup black eyed peas with 1.5 cups of rice.... Used coriander powder and jeera powder as additional ingredients... It turned out very very good... Nice and spicy, like curry rice.. It took just 20 minutes to prepare... Today brought the same for lunch.. I am starting to enjoy this thread... I think I will cook new dishes hereafter and update you girls here... ilt
My mom used to do the same chutney with chenna dhal (kadala paruppu) instead of urudhal and a very small piece of tamarind.. add one tomato too.. Fry everything together and grind... it tastes very very good.. the tamarind in it gives additional tangy taste which goes good for idly and dosa (both rice and wheat)... ilt
