    Rangoli/Kolam Gollection

    Hi All,
The attached are some rangolis done at my home using maida. I used it due to its sticky nature and since this has to be made on granite flooring. anything else, i am sure all would have tried, stays no more than 15 minutes. I used once rice flour, oh! not to mention, it was a disaster by the end of function. It chipped off very easily. it was more inside the house than on the portico :spin.
By using maida, you can make design last for like atleast 1 week. once dried even if rain or shine, it does not budge off the floor easily. This is also good option to put inside house. The first image is done inside the house on which homa/havan was done. I must say even after homa, it stayed intact for 3 days till it was removed by my dear hubby.
Now coming to removing it, you have to put water and let the design soak for 5 to 10 min to remove it off. Since maida is sticky, it takes little effort to remove.
And yes, the coloring is also kind of maida (if you are able to notice). I mixed water to the normal rangoli colors you get and i painted it with brush. by using brush it was easy to keep the borders intact. this could work out because the colors nowadays you get have maida mixed in it.
Maida - not good for health atleast good to make 'Hase'. A perfect Eyecandy.
