    Dear IL,
Can anyone please help me with some answers regarding following questions..
    1. Are Aani and AaDi Tamil months inauspicious for shifting apartments ?
    2. Can married couples undertake efforts towards conceiving during Aani and AaDi masam, or should they wait till these months pass?
    3. Suppose the couple happen to conceive in Chithrai or Vaikaasi then is it okay for them to change residence in Aavani ( i.e. is it okay to pal-kachify and move into a new place when the lady of the house is pregnant ?? )

Anyone who can throw light - million thanks in advance ...

    Reg,
    Savannas

    Hi Savannas,

The logical reasoning behind separating the couple during Aadi is say if the lady conceives in aadi (August) then she would deliver in April (ie, Chithirai) . It is a very hot month and to avoid that they keep the DH & DW apart.
Or atleast that is what my mom thinks... :)

It is upto you AND your elders whether to bring in aadi between you & your DH or not..

It was not advised from elder that you should not do kragapravesam( house warming) or start builiding new house when the women in that house is pregenant. but shifting house is not an issue.

    There is a Tamil saying:
    "Kovilavatu etheda kulankal avathu etheda.....
    Kovilum manathule kulankalum manathule"

In my opinion these are irrelevant.
How can some day be bad for Tamils and not for the rest?
Andhras and Kannadigas follow a lunar calendar, while Tamils and Malayalis follow a solar one. Quite often we end up with some contradiction.
So long as you do not get a guilt feeling and no 'elder' gets worked up, just follow what is convenient.

    Dear SISTER,

I also agree with the views of TRUE ji, building a house should not happen is what i have heard (even this may be because of the work involved for the house holder those days but today we get ready available apartments)

STay cool and do what your mind says, if elders at home are comfortable and not fussy just go ahead, Almighty will guide you right.
