I guess people would respond if they know something.. so just wait.

why don't you learn urself, by taking to local priests or elders or searching in the internet in the meantime?

Hi SRO9..
I have participated once in a temple and that was enough for me
The ladies who took part in the puja were either sumangalis or future brides to be..My sister told me it was good to take part as this puja would have good effects on my family..
The priest was chanting in Sanskrit and we did not understand what he was saying and he would have an assistant who told us what to do with the flowers etc..
I was more worried about my small kuthuvilaku running out of oil then paying attention to the priest..
After the puja I looked around and saw there were more then 300 participants and each was trying to outdo the other in the decoration of lights etc.. the fees for taking part in this puja was also exorbitant..
I then realised that it would be good to do this in the comfort of my home..
I got myself a book on this puja and read on it..
When my friends come for a coffee morning or a get together they find it hard to leave my home cos they say its so warm and cosy..
So my dear actually its your choice..
