Default importance of Naksatras, and Tithis in daily life

    Naksatras, and Tithis
While selecting a suitable day and time for any undertaking, the prevalent Tithi (Lunar day), Nakshatra (Star constellation in which the moon is placed at that time) and the Yoga (auspiciousness) are taken into consideration. If you don't have an astrologer to guide you, the following basic information will help you. Please note that in Vedic Astrology everything has its functional use. Some days may be auspicious for some things, but inauspicious for other things.
    The 27 Nakshatras:

Arudra, Aslesa, Jyestha, and Mula are DREADFUL stars and are suitable for success in warfare, invocation of elementals and other spirits, imprisonment, separations, acts of destruction, and the breaking of alliances with superiors.
Purnavasu, Swati, Shravana, Dhanistha and Satabhisa are TEMPORARY, MOVABLE, or QUICK stars favourable for undertaking travel, acquiring conveyances, gardening, going on processions, visiting friends, and anything of a temporary nature.
Bharani, Magha, Purvaphalguni, Purvasadha, and Purvabhadrapada are FIERCE or CRUEL, constellations and are suitable for acts of evil, deceit, and conflict, destruction of enemies, incarceration, poisoning, arson, battle, setting fire, acts of destruction, ill-repute, and cruelty.

Thanks Padma Madam. I was looking for something like this, for quite some time.

Can we find the thithis for past days ? Like, my in-law's passed away many years back and we know only the English date . We want to observe and worship their thithi day also .. is there any site where we can enter the English date and will give us the star, tamil month and thithi for that particular date ?

    Thanks.
