how many months post delivery can lady do religiouse activities

    My cousin has delivered a baby girl in Jan 2015, she is in a dilamma as to when she can start going to temples n do pooja etc, since her pregnancy n delivery was a lil complicated she had taken few prayers and wants to start asap

    can smone pls help out here

    I think it is 40 days. I am not sure, lets just wait for the experienced ladies to step in.

    Going by the vedas it also depends on the varna one belongs to. Brahmins start their religious activities earlier as compared to others.

    40 days. That is usually around that time you stop bleeding post delivery

    in kerala, we usually wait for 56 days,but i have seen ppl start going after 40 days too.

    After 40 days we take the mom and kidto temple...After which she can prticipate.Its the time it usually takes for her to heal also

    here, m'sian tamil says 30 days. we will have new baby naming ceremony and prayers after 30 days (normally on 31st days and onwards).
    on 31st day morning, the new mom will bring the baby for the first time to temple.
