Can some one tell me why Tamil Brahmins use the phrase" aathukku varela?" in Tamil while inviting some one to their house?
I am not sure what exactly you want to know but I am giving it a shot. "aaham" stands for home. Colloquially it has become "aam". And from that "aathukku" meaning to home - equivalent of veetuku. And varela is the Brahmin way of saying "varugireergala" - for which other communities would probably say "vareengala"
