Seasons First Rain......

Yesterday late evening brought with it showers of blessings...
After so humid weather yesterday playing in rain was like heaven....

share ur feelings for first rain of the season..

hi,
very glad to hear about the 1st rain.i am going to visit India during mid july & was very worried about the prevalent hot weather.
here in kampala weather is very good so my kids are very uncomfortable in hot places.
but,weather man says that still long way to go for actual rains as its just a pre monsoon shower.
i am praying daily for rains...............

Even as the arrival of monsoon has given much-needed respite to the residents from the intense heat, it has once again brought forth the veracity of the city’s drainage system. Proving that the drainage system is almost non-existent,

who els knows the need of rain better thn a Farmer....

yesterday only Grandpa was saying on fone... " paddy about to die if it wont rain for next 3-4 days ...." God .. pleas send these Monsoon showers from Mumbai to my Home ... they r eagerly waiting

the first drops ... when they will touch the ground... it smells so soothing...
those first drops on leaves... woow !

Lovely thought friend....you are absolutely right, no one craves for the monsoons as much as our farmer friends...and interestingly, the fasal is grown for us...no one knows who is savoring the paddy from your grandpa's field...but a farmer is more tense than all.

Lets pray...

I love the sondhi sondhi khushboo of the soil as it settles the dust and impurities in the air with the first rain. The leaves look so green ....seems they too were waiting eagerly for it..

How many of you are here who can't resist getting wet in the first rain?

PTI (July20,2009): Several parts of Punjab and Haryana today experienced heavy showers with Hoshiarpur receiving 53.5 mm of rains.

The showers which are beneficial for the paddy crops are also likely to improve the power situation in the region which is witnessing prolonged electricity cuts. The MET department predicted moderate to heavy rains at many areas in the region during the next 24 hours.

Mukerian in Punjab received 33.5 mm rainfall followed by Anandpur Sahib which received 24 mm rains, while Panipat and Kalka each received 15 mm rainfall. Phagwara, also in Punjab, received 20 mm of rainfall, Ropar 20 mm, Gurdaspur 8 mm, Dhuri 7 mm, while Raipur Rani and Garshanker each received 5 mm of rainfall.

Among the other places, Balachaur had 4.2 mm of rainfall, Chandigarh 3 mm, Panchkula 3.6 mm, Ambala 3.1 mm and Morni 3 mm.
