Post Dera Sachcha Sauda Controversy

Ok, this may be a sensitive issue for some people here, but I really need to address it.

The head of Dera Sachcha Sauda has been under huge controversies lately. First there was the outfit issue (quite blasphemous I must say), then there was the shooting incident and now there are news that he is being charged with rape ... What do you think it is? Is it all a conspiracy against Baba or is he really someone we don't really know? I have two friends and one of them is a hardened bhagat of Baba while the other one thinks he should be put behind bars for good. And don't worry, we all are Sikhs so there is no communal angle to it.

Help me.... Otherwise my friends will chew my brains out!!

hey dear...

let them follow their heats... No one knows what the truth is...there are lots of hidden secrets... and i don't know what are they teching people 'coz they always create voilence...i don't think anyone who prechec teachings of God leads to voilence but they always do... Communal voilence and destroying public property.. This is what their followers did and they din't move a hand to stop them...I feel we shud belive in God only He is the one na no one else...especially who leads to voilence can't be a God's man...

(Not to hurt anyone feelings..If anyone is hurt with my comments I apologise)

Exclamation Re: Dera Sachcha Sauda Controversy

I agree with AryaSonia. I feel that a Dera leader should be above suspicion. If there are cases registered against him by an established govt agency and backed by scientific evidence, then it means that he is at fault. There were complaints against him by women devotees. In fact, many religious leaders succumb to flesh. Recall, the news against church leaders in Kerala and the action against the Shankaracharya in Tamil Nadu. No one is above law. Let the law take its own course.

Angry Re: Dera Sachcha Sauda Controversy

I think this is the problem with our country. We make religion such a big thing that even the law of the country starts to come under suspicion. If there are cases against the Baba then he should be charged. After all, he is a normal citizen of this country and like any other citizen, he is not above law.

But some chamchas of his keep trying to portray him as a God's man They even creat riots in the country at the slightest provocation. I don't think that's right at all.

If he was truly God, he wouldn't be roaming around in huge cars which he buys from the money given to the Dera. God doesn't exploit people by asking them to fund for his secuirity guards and family expenses . Above all, any person who is near God, can't let his disciple go on a rampage and damage public property.

The guy should be booked like anybody else.

Back in his gufa, as his seven-acre residence is called, after delivering a sermon on non-violence to a mammoth congregation of 7,000-odd devotees, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh claims he hasn’t heard of the clashes that rocked Bathinda for the second day today.

While his followers and Akalis fight over an advertisement showing him distributing amrit (nector) while dressed in a robe—inviting charges from Sikh bodies that he was trying to emulate Guru Gobind Singh—the Sacha Sauda chief appears unruffled.

“I wear whatever my followers give me to wear,” says the 40-year-old, the turban on his head twinkling. “My robes can match anybody’s. They don't indicate my inclination towards any particular religion. All religions are the same.”

Post Re: Dera Sachcha Sauda Controversy

I am not too sure that I know entirely about this controversy. In fact, I didn't even know that there is any such Dera before the whole Punjab erupted into riots because of it. But all I know is that no religion teaches people to fight.

This has been happening quite a lot, lately. People just start rioting and killing people on the smallest issues. Whether its in Kashmir, Punjab or any other state. People hardly need an issue to create a riot these days. They can start fighting on anything- a statement by a famous personality, a comment by a religious head, a painting, a movie, song- you name it and they will find a reason to fight over it.

Why are we becoming so intolerant in this? What's wrong with us?

So true!!! We in India can create havoc at the stupidest of issues, but will keep mum on the most relevant issues. I have yet to see a political party protesting over the plight of women in this country, child-labour, corruption, lack of civil infrastructure, etc. etc. etc.

But everybody gets time to protest against Madhuri Dixit when she calls a shoe maker a mochi or Shahrukh Khan for calling a hair cutter, Barber.

I mean come on yaar...

I completely agree with u dear...
People make issues of stupid things and distroy others without giving a thought to their actions... but the major issues that relate to our country, devolpment etc remain neglected noone bothers to talk aver such issue..

Post Re: Dera Sachcha Sauda Controversy

I think the govt. should add "the right to riot" in our fundamental rights too. After all, we all see it as our birth right to burn public property and destroy things like buses and trains which our govt. has bought from our hard earned money only.

You know I think the real problem here is unemployment. In most of the riots, its the little educated and unemployed population of our country that creates havoc. Educated people know that burning buses and pelting stones on people won't get them anything.

Many riots are politically motivated also.
