Default Pahar Ganj

There are numerous stories of parents visiting their children in the US or the UK getting bored soon after their arrival there. They just want to come back to their home. The reason? There is no raunaq, chahel pahel, no jostling crowds, no rickshaws or honking autos. Just cars zooming away in their lanes. What monotonous discipline!

Pahar Ganj, the most polluted and smoggiest zone in Delhi and see for yourself why you would like to visit it again and again. It is here that you get “sarson ka saag with yak cheese, avocado, sandwitch, palak paneer, chop suey, kimchi rice, ratatouie, lasagna and enchilada under one roof?”

Does anyone have the same feeling about this?

Hi aahna,

I came rushing to this post, because of the title. Yes, I was excited to see something written about Pahar Ganj.
Though I haven't been in Delhi...just have been a visitor, and I stayed in Pahar Ganj during my stay there. It was peak summer ..still loved the hustle-bustle and the activities there. Would love the go back to the city and stay in the same place.
And most of all I love it, because it was very close to Rajpath, the area which I love sooooooo much.
Do keep writing about the place..

Bye

It is today, known for its concentration of affordable hotels, restaurants, dhabas (cheap restaurants) and a wide variety of shops catering to both domestic travellers and foreign tourists, especially those travelling on a relatively low budget; and over the year it has becoming particularly popular as a haunt for international cuisine.

It gets its present name 'Paharganj', literally meaning Hilly neighbourhood, owing to its proximity to the Raisina Hill, where the Rashtrapati Bhavan stand today.
I am really glad to find someone speaking about this place. Has anyone visited this place?
