Special sweets/namkeens of pune

Hi

Am visiting my family in Bangalore and I want to buy the special namkeen/sweet dishes of Pune.The two items I know about are Bhakerwadi and Chiwda, got to know Chitale's Bhakarwadi and Laxminarayan Chiwda are the best.Can someone please tell me any other products which I can get? I had a pappad kind of namkeen thing which was said as a speciality of Pune, but dont know its name Can any of you help me out?

apparantly dagdu halwai's modak is another one...sweet.

even i have faced this problem alot of times...

the one that's like papad must be khakra....you can get it at most of grocery stores...dorabjee at MG road has a good collection

try tomato khakra...or even palak .. tastes very good...

other thing that i happened to discover was some kind of badam sweet...it's not a barfi...it's hard like mysore pak ...u may ask at Chitale Bandhu...they would tell u the name...it's a wonderful sweet...i had it for the first time and all liked it

Ami, khakhra is a gujju item and not typical of pune.

I hope you are not talking about aam papad...which is sweet.

I bought khakra,bhakarwadi and chiwda from Chitale bhandu.Just wanted to Inform you people that the Chitale Bandhu shop in FC road(Deccan) is closed from 1PM to 4PM everyday.So if anyone is planning to visit there arrange your timings like wise
