Power – Cuts in Pune

Our dearest neighbouring city Pune was spared of the power cuts till date. The doomsday is not very far. Starting 5^th April, 2008 the city will face acute power cut for more than 4 to 5 hours a day. Join hands with us Pune, your sisters Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are already gripped with this fever. The inverter dealers are laughing their way to the bank…

Hoping the public to be wiser in using power.

WE have a neighbour who uses AC 365 days of the year...even when the temp is 7-8 in winters.

Just today evening when the watchman gave me the electricity bills of all the flats my neighbour started peeping in all the bills and boasted that her bill is the highest .. "My bill comes to Rs.1500 and above", I promptly replied, " If you use it wisely it will not be that high. There are many other sectors where we can show MONEY POWER".. Her face fell flat.. he he...

As of now the powercut timings is from 6.30 - 10.

Lets see what happens later.

Also, all the societies who have generators are operating them to the fullest...but i wonder till when can one depend on generators too as diesel is also gonna be scarce.

I wonder why we are not trying to exploit the usage of solar energy. It seems the initial installation is very expensive. Some research needs to be done in this direction.
