Default Varamahalakshmi Pooja

Hello Friends,

I want to start varamalakshmi pooja on the day of varamahalakshmi festival by keeping kalasa. This is the first time i am going to do this. I got married recently and my mother-in-law was not used to keep kalasa, from this time i want to start this. Is there is any rules for starting this?. Can someone tell me the procedure about this pooja??

Thanks,

Mythri

Hi,

See the link that I have pasted below to give you a knowledge about Varalakshmi Viriatham. But if keeping Kalasa is not in the family generally it is advised not to keep and do the pooja. But better consult your family Sasthrigal who will guide you through.

Varalakshmi Viratham

Question VaraLakshmi Vratam

Tomorrow is the day of Varalakshmi Vratam.
I would like to know what is the significance of this vrat ? I have seen ladies celebrating it on a big scale in South India. Is it similar to what we have in North i.e. Karvachauth? Who do we worship on this day, as the name suggets , it should be Lakshmi? And what is the story behind this vrat, if any? What is the procedure of doing this vrat?
Somebody please enlighten me?
