Hi Thank you so much for a wonderful compilation of the shlokas. I have been trying to get some of the slokas online for long time until i found your article. You have really helped a lot of people by giving them these shlokas. I have a question if you could please reply. I have been trying to concieve for the last 9 years but no luck. Even went to the doctor had many checkups no result. Few minor problems all solved but no major reason for not to concieve. I was wondering will these slokas help me. I do believe in God a lot. But my question was, sometimes when we read a shloka the pronounciation goes wrong, does that effect the slokas in anyway? Second question the above mantra has it to be repeated one after the other. Third is there a specific way of doing it like sitting in front of God and reciting it ? Could you please let me know. Thanks |

| Welcome our friend Imani, For any remedies from illness Lord Dhanvantri is the most reverred... Dhanvantari is considered as the originator of Ayurveda. Dhanvantari Stotra: Sankham Chakram Jaloukaam Dadhadamruta GhatamChaaru Dorbhicchaturbhihi Sookshma Swacchati Hrudayaamsuka Parivilasan Moulim Amboja Netram Kaalaambodojvalaangam Katitata Vilasat Chaaru Peetaambaraadyam Vandey Dhanvantarim Tam Nikhila Gada Vana Proudda Daavaagni Leelam Salutations to HIM,Lord Dhanvantari, who is holding in HIS four hands a Sankh,a Disc.a Leech and a pot of celestial ambrosia in whose heart shines a very clear, gentle and pleasing blaze of light, which also shines all around HIS head and lotus eyes. On the dark blue/black water HIS body is luminous and splendid. HIS waist and thighs are covered in yellow cloth and WHO by HIS mere play destroys all diseases like a huge forest fire. This mantra is considered the best 2 cure any illness. We also should recite Mrityunjaya mantra..... The Upanishads say that the famous Mrityunjaya mantra should be chanted whilst applying ash on the forehead. Tryambakam yajaamahe Sugandhim pushtivardhanam Urvaa rukamiva bhandhanaan Mrytyor muksheeyamaa amrutaat "We worship the three-eyed Lord Shiva who nourishes and spread fragrance in our lives. May He free us from the shackles of sorrow, change and death ‘ effortlessly, like the fall of a rip brinjal from its stem." subbu |

| Dear Mrs.Chitra, I went through the entire 83 or so pages of posts in the Special slokas post, but did not find what I was looking for.I must really commend you on doing a great job of posting very good slokas for all of us here.I have already copied many of them into a folder on my PC.I write to you in the hope of getting a very rare Saraswati sloka.I had read in one edition of the Bhavans Journal many many yrs ago, somewhere between the yrs 1982-85( I was 7-10 yrs old at that time). The sloka is said to be very powerful, and I only remember the starting words or Padams: NAVAARKA BIMBA DYUTIMUDGALAJJWALA TAATANKA....... This is how it started but I have never been able to locate the whole slokam as such.It consisted of only two lines with very very long words(without the sandhi vichched, these words were very difficult to pronounce for me at that time)I have been searching for this sloka since that time. Can you help,Chitra garu?I will be most grateful to you.I saw the many slokas you have posted and thought that you might be able to help me.
