Default When ill-health and Sickness strike you.

Dhanvantri & Mrithunjaya Mantras

If somebody is very sick or has health problems, these shlokas may be chanted in the house for a peaceful atmosphere. On normal days also they can be chanted for overall good health.
By chanting them, your troubles may not vanish totally but the intensity of trouble is reduced and you get the inner strength to face them with courage and confidence.

1 – Dhanvantri Mantra
Om namo bhagavathae mahaa sudars(h)ana vaasudaevaaya dhanvantharayae amr(u)tha kalas(h)a hasthaaya sarva bhaya vinaas(h)aaya sarva roga nivaaraNaaya thrylokya padayae thrylokya nidhyae s(h)ree mahaavishNu svaroopa s(h)ree danvanthri svaroopa s(h)ree s(h)ree oushadha chakra naaraayaNa svaahaah

Obeisances unto the Supreme Bhaghavan known as Sudarshana Vasudev Dhanvantari, the holder of the Kalasha full of nectar of imortality, who removes all fears, who removes all diseases, the well wisher of the three worlds, and sustainer of the three worlds, He is Vishnu swarupa, by the name Dhanvantri, empowered to heal the Jiva souls.

2 - Yet another mantra praying for relief from ill-health is:
Achyuthaananda govinda naamochchaaraNa bhaeshajaath
Nas(h)yanthi sakalaa rogaah sathyam sathyam vadaamyaham
Achyuthaananda govinda vishNo: naraayaNaamrutha
Rogaanmae naas(h)ayaas(h)aeshaan aas(h)u dhanvantharae harae
Achuthaananda govinda vishNo dhanvantharae harae
Vaasudaevaakhilaanasya rogaan naas(h)aya naas(h)aya

2 – The following is traditionally chanted by family and friends for a person who is ill or approaching death. This Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is a life-giving Mantra.
In these days, when life is very complex and accidents are an everyday affair, this Mantra wards off death by accidents and fatal illnesses. It has a great curative effect for diseases pronounced incurable by modern medicine; they are known to be cured by chanting this Mantra with sincerity, faith and devotion. It is a weapon against disease. It is a healing Mantra to conquer death.

Thryambakam yajaamahae sughanthim pushtivardhanam
Urvaarukamiva bandhanaath mrithyormuksheeya maamruthaath

We worship the three-eyed One (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant and who promotes prosperity. May we be freed from the bondage of death even as a ripe cucumber falls from its stalk, and not be deprived of immortality.

All these mantras improve the positive effects in the house of a sick person.

Love & regards,
Chithra.
