Hallo ChitraAunty I was wondering if you know about a Thulasi stotram and a vilakku stotram which my mother used to recite--my mothers no more-n i dont know whom to ask for the same--thulasi stotram starts like this-"srima thulasiamma/thiruve kalyanni amma/vellikazhmai......chevakazhmai.." .i dont know more and the vilakku stotram -goeslike this-vilake thiruve-jothi vilake-alankaara penmaneeye/shreedevi vilake/...again i am lost after this i would be really obliged if somebody gives me this please----RadhikaSundaram

Ramachander [Hindus light a lamp before their deity in temples and homes. In South Indian homes, lamp itself is worshipped as God. Hallo Arika, Hope I got ur name rt..thanks a million for the Vilakku Stotram///it means a lot to me..the last small fone clip i hv of my mother-is where shes saying this-altho quite unaudible due to her ill health..it makes me feel nice when i said d same-my mother had taught me these when i was very young.n i remember reciting d same in front of the God photos in my mothers house--i did hv it written n verified by her-but with a lot of transfers -seem to hv misplaced d same-very very obliged-if anybody can lay their hands on the thulasi stotram-i would be very thankful i do not know tamil..thats the problem-sorry--- thank you indus n Chitra mam..and arika...thanks a lot

Dear Radhika, It is a wonderful sloka. It reads as "Vilakke thiruvilakke vendanudan marpirappe" I used to chant it earlier, and I used to get peace even while chanting.

Hi Arika As I had mentioned -i have a small clipping of my mother reciting d vilaku stotram well she was quite old-when she had said this-but she says one more line in the first para pottum itten kumkumathal-poo maalai chootivaithen that is missing in d one u sent me please forgive me-but any idea if any other lines missing or can u pls check on d one u sent me please do not misunderstand me Radhika
