Dear All : I was given this pooja details by one of my friends mother and it really worked for me. I was told to do this pooja and assured that it was very effective for buying houses. I started the prayer thinking I will do it till I buy the house, and exactly after 8 months I booked a beautiful house.

I am sharing the pooja details here :
On the day of Thiruvonam Star (monthly nakshatram), have a head bath, and light ghee lamp with 5 wicks for Mahavishnu. Take a lamp which can hold a lot of ghee. Do sankalpam (ie, your wish and why you are doing the pooja). Chant the Vishnu Sahasranamam, followed by Vishnu Ashtotharam. Nevidyam : Paal Payasam or Semya Payasam. Do nevidyam, and aarati as normal. Let the lamp burn till the entire ghee gets over (ie. do not put it off). If you are working, you can do this prayer / pooja in the morning, and leave for work, after keeping a few drops of the milk payasam on the lamp (just touching the lamp with payasam would be sufficient).
Very simple and a very effective prayer.
    All the best, Jyothi

Thiruvonam visit to perumal temple.I was told by my sister to pray and visit the temple for Lord Vishnu's darshan on Tiruvonam star every month and I have been doing it. Definitely it has paid fruits, even after the prayer being fruitful, I keep visiting the temple regularly

    Hi Lavanya,
Do not put off the lamp - just put milk and leave it for it go off by itself.
    All the best, Jyothi

    Hi Lavanya,

Normally, in the tamil customs (not sure whether everyone follows this or whether this is only the tamil customs), after lighting the lamp, we put a very small drop of milk on both sides of the "thiri" (wicks), right ? Do only that. Do not pull the wicks inside. The wicks will continue to burn till all the oil / ghee in the lamp gets over. Hope it is clear now :) ? If not, let me know. All the best.
