Dear Triv0 n pavitra This info is taken from the net DETAILED PROCEDURE OF 40 DAYS SUGAR CANDY SAI POOJA. 1)START THIS POOJA PREFERABLY ON A THURSDAY 2) YOU HAVE TO OFFER SUGAR CANDY TO SAI FOR 40 DAYS. 3) USUALLY, WE DISTRIBUTE THE NAIVEDYAM(PRASAD) OFFERED IMMEDIATELY, BUT HERE, WE ARE GOING TO COLLECT IT IN A CONTAINER. 4) DAILY, PLACE SOME SUGAR CANDY IN FRONT OF BABA, PRAY FOR A FEW MINUTES TELLING THE WISH FOR WHICH YOU ARE DOING THIS & OFFER IT TO HIM 5) AFTER OFFERING IT TO SAI, COLLECT THIS IN A CONTAINER. YOU SHOULD NOT EAT IT, DON'T DISTRIBUTE IT ALSO. INSTEAD, KEEP COLLECTING. 6) AFTER 40 DAYS, SAI WILL COME IN SOME FORM & TAKE THE PRASAD FROM YOU. You can do this either in the morning or in the evening. Ladies, do not do it on the forbidden days, continue thereafter. Usual procedures like lighting lamps, incense sticks, telling slokas, offering flowers, abhishekam, archana- Do everything according to your practice & convenience. But, nothing forms part of this Pooja. Sometimes, Sai comes even on the second day & takes the Prasad. Sometimes on the 40th day or even after that, do not worry. Have complete faith. Hi, Thanks for ur detailed procedure but i have few questions? Is this pooja or like daily prayer we need to do.? I m doing 9 thursday viratham. Shall i do this together? Is there any hard rules for it? Sugar candy means choclate? Will Sai comes in any form and ask for choclate or do we need to distribute after 40 days? (can we give to any one from Home also when asked for candy?) Can we have non veg? Thanks a lot for ur replies. Please help me in answering all this. Waiting for ur reply.

Dear Pavithra n Lavanya Like i mentioned earlier i have read it on the net only n have not done it personally ,i also have the same doubts regarding how to give the prasad,in india i think when the baba cart comes near yr home u can go n give but outside india i dont know . As mentioned only thing u have to do is to offer the candy to Sai(mention yr wish for which you are doing it) n later collect it and keep , somehow he will take it,there is no other rule Sugar candy is "misri" or "kalkand" the small diamond shaped cooked sugar. But I have one question...for the days that we are unable to perform the pooja due to monthly period do we count those days or not as the 40 days? If you know the answer to those question please let me know. Thanks.
