i have a doubt regarding ayyapa swamy pooja,as being a strct celibate, can females do pooja to him, i mean can we read any of his sloka's or anything,& evn weekly we;ll clean pooja deites na, so can we clean ayyapa swamy photo too na ?? r females allowed? & anybody pls tell any detials abt it. Hi Siri, There are no such restrictions. Any one can do/perform pooja to Ayyappa swami. Especially ladies are not supposed to do pooja during the periods time. Rest of the times they are allowed to do the pooja. This restriction for ladies is there for not only for ayyappa swami but for all hindu gods. They are not supposed to do pooja during that time. For ayyappa swami, you should be more careful while performing the pooja. U have to celan the house every day and you have to take head bath while doing pooja.
