8 weeks pregnant but U/s shows 6 weeks

many times in initial day of pregnancy it happens as the pregnancy gradually develops the dates might get the same there is nothing for your friend to worry when hearth beat of the feotus is normal.

When they did the first U/S for me they were hoping to a see a gestational sac bcos they thought i was 5+ weeks pregnant but we didnt see any sac and the doctor was saying maybe I would have ovulated late,so I was scheduled to come for U/S the next week and there we saw the sac,so dont worry about this,I am again scheduled to come for U/S in 2 weeks for fetal heartbeat!

Hi, don't worry abt this situation, i had faced a similar situation. My pregnancy didn't got confirmed in the first month itself. In december 2005, i didn't get my periods so i went to a gynaec and did pregnancy test, it was negative and gynaec asked me to wait for some more days and not to take any medicine. I waited for one more month, not got periods yet. again she asked me to do a pregnancy test, it was positive. I ovulated late. so in ur friends case foetus is 6 weeks and actual is 8 weeks. my case was actual was 8 weeks and foetus was just 4 weeks. So dn't worry . If the growth and heart beat is fine, nothing to worry abt.

Tell my hearty Congratulations to your friend on her pregnancy.
The issue is, she may have ovulated later which would cause a difference in gestational age. Generally heartbeat isn't detectable until 7-8 weeks...but they should have seen an sac and fetal pole at this point. So, ask her not to worry much about this!!

 

I m in the same state. As per LMP, my pregnancy is 7 weeks, but u/s shows it less than 5 weeks.
The possible reasons are late conception or a non-progressive pregnancy

Doctors suggested a second u/s after 10 days for reaching conclusions.

If doctors saw a 6 week growth for your friend, means that her baby is doing fine, just late conception! dont worry!
