Hello Mommies... Did anyone use saffron during pregnancy? If so, can you tell me how and when to use. I am in 5th month and want to know if I can start now or wait for some more time. Also, please share your experience.
You can start taking saffron with milk at any time during your pregnancy. Milk is a great source of proteins and calcium. It is best to add just one or two strands of saffron to a glass of milk during pregnancy. Too much of saffron is not at all recommended.. Eat healthy and stay healthy MAY GOD BLESS U A HEALTHY BABY.
I believe in saffron giving fair baby. My son was born so fair that I still doubt how could he be just that fair when I or my husband is not. gigglingsmiley Go ahead...
I'm having saffron right from my second month. My MIL said it solves digestion problem not for fairness. Not sure what's the real case, so far no digestion problems hence following it
I also consumed saffron with milk. Friends even gifted me with so many saffron boxes that we used it even after my son was born !gigglingsmiley I do not know if that helps in getting a fair complexioned baby. My son was normal complexioned. Saffron is rich in vitamin b2 and good for digestion. Also acts as pain reliever during cramps and gastric trouble which are common during pregnancy from second trimester. Use it wisely in correct quantity. Too much of any thing is not good. All the best for a safe pregnancy and normal delivery, Pavithra. :2thumbsup:
Thank you all for your responses. I somehow hate plain milk from childhood. Can I have saffron with horlicks?
Of course you can. I like milk but since the doctors prescribed some breast milk enhancing formula I mixed that with milk and consumed with strands of saffron. Do drink Mother's Horlicks. It helps a lot for breast feeding. All the best, Pavithra
One more question, after soaking the saffron strands in milk should i take out the strands or should I consume the strands too?
