Hi ILites,

I am 5 weeks pregnant and would like to know whether it is safe to travel this week. I would be travelling from bangalore to nagercoil by train and it is around 14 to 15 hrs . Can you please let me know whether it would be safe travelling ??

Hi,
5 week is too early for traveling that long.... First trimester is very crucial..there is a high chance of miscarriage...I think its not a good idea. Consult with your doctor to make sure.

Hi afcpreethi,

Congrats on your pregnancy.. If the travel is not urgent or critical, consider postponing the trip or avoid it. Although ideally speaking, you may travel..it's safer not to travel so long and stress your body..

Better safe than sorry. Please check with your gynae. Second trimester travels are usually considered safer. Wish you a happy healthy pregnancy.

Hi there
congos on your pregnancy.

I believe you will start vommitting at this week probably. So you would be exhausted and would not be in a position to travel. If this is the case. Your mind will be hunting ways to stop vommitting. Same thing happened to me

Long travel should be avoided till 14 weeks are completed as the chances of miscarriage is high.. so better be safe den sorry
