excess dry and peeling areola during pregnancy

    Dear ILs

    I am 23 weeks pregnant. My areola has become excess dry and its peeling. I am facing severe itching there due to it. I have not found any thread on indusladies on this topic so far..is this rare problem? Please suggest me

    Try to massage there with olive oil.Dont use soap or other things that makes it dry.There is no problem at all..

    Thanx Binz for your reply, which olive oil shall i use for body and that part massage? i have heard there are many types of olive oil available in market like extra virgin olive oil etc..I have completely no idea about it

    Hi Rachana..
    You can apply coconut oil . This is very good for dry skin. Apply it couple of times a day then wash with gram flour, avoid using any soap . Always keep it moisturized with a mild lotion. Hope it helps.

    I also face this issue at times and I apply either vaseline/olive oil/castor oil. Try avoiding soap on that area and regularly moisturize them, post pregnancy while feeding you can use high purity lanolin cream, best part is it need not even be washed before feeding.

    Apply olive/coconut oil daily.It will help you.

    Pure Ghee is working for me, but i have to apply it every alternate day
