    Hi Prashi,
Congrats on ur pregnancy. I am now 22 weeks pregnant, my gynaec told me to take fish for healthy baby growth. It also aids in development of baby. She advised me to take good fishes that are fresh except dry fish. I am not much aware about other varieties.

Yes, certainly a pregnant woman can eat fish daily............yes, daily. Pomphret, both white pomphret and black pomphret are good. As a matter of fact, a pregnant woman can eat any fish. All the best..! :)

don't give any wrong advice without knowing it properly...
pregnant women should not eat fish daily...
please check for the mercury levels in the fish and eat it
high mercury level fish creates birth defects to the baby, it doesn't mean that you need to completely avoid it, but make sure u r eating in that level....
please check with internet or ur doctor before eating ..

    i agree with subhaganesh...

i was advised the same by my gynec and she was of the opinion that lake fish is okay but predator fish need to be omitted.

i had read the same in various websites and thus, i would suggest that for your peace of mind- its better you consult your doc and then. Not only in the case of fish but any foods that you are unsure of- better to consult and then consume...

    all the best

Fish increases the level of Dopamine hormone, which should be maintained well.
Check the level of Hormone level of the Dopamine, and if the level is low, Fish / Red Meat are the good boosters.

    hi,prashi'

its better to avoid belt fish andand silver lined fishes as these create gastric problems.
baby shark are good in proteins and good for lactation and can be consumed on alternate days from 8th month.
avoid dried fish and brinjals as they give out itching and scratching .
important one whatso you consume always try to have a glass of warm milk or water after it for good digestion and for avoiding heavyness in chest and abdomen

all the good and happy wishes for ur babydust.

    Hi there,

If you Google 'low mercury seafood' you will get a list of fish that are perfectly safe for pregnant women. E.g., shrimp, crab, tilapia, etc. Examples of high mercury fish include shark and tuna. Here's a link from the american pregnancy website, which I found useful to filter out those seafood I need to avoid during this time: Mercury Levels in Fish : American Pregnancy Association Hope that helps!
