About getting pregnant (and staying pregnant) with diabetes, here are a few tips.
1. Take multi-vitamin and folic-acid even before you conceive and continue to do so after conception.
2. Try to follow a low-carb diet as much as you can. Eating lots of protein while trying to conceive is very important, from sources such as animal protein, eggs, nuts, seeds etc. You need atleast 70-100gms of protein per day. My doc refered me to a dietician who developed a specific food plan for my needs.
3. On the days you ovulate and have intercourse and the following 3-4 days, take bedrest as much as you can. This is done to increase the blood flow to the uterus and aid in a healthy conception.
4. Take a 10-15 minute walk after breakfast, lunch and dinner to make sure your sugars stay in control.
5. Do you have a blood sugar monitor? Invest in one to keep track of your sugars and maintain them in the healthy range (<100 for fasting and between 110 and 135 1 hour post lunch and dinner).
6. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner plus 3 snacks per day. This helps in keeping your blood sugars steady.
7. Ask your doc if diabetic medications such as metformin, glyburide or insulin will help you keep control on your sugar levels.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Dear Pooja,
First, thank u so much for such a concerned reply... yes, I did almost all u've said... I kept watching my carbs intake and was testing my glucose levels with a glucose meter 4 times a day,.. taking insulin 4 times a day and did walking after every meal...
and ofcourse, I was taking folic acid tablets for more than 6 months before my pregnancy itself....
I don't know the reason yet...The doctors told-it's unexplained reason... It was a shock when we heard this as it was the end week of first trimester when the chances for miscarriage r less...
I don't know whether it was because it was delayed to start the treatment by the GP here,...
I don't know whom to blame... except blaming myself...
Thank you for ur suggestions,... I'll definitely follow all of them in future...
Now, I've only a big question - being a diabetic, can I have/bear a (healthy) baby ...?
atleast hereafter...? (facing mental pain a lot than of the present physical pain of a DNC.. because of this confused mental state...I afraid of becoming mentally disordered...) sorry....
