ஏழு ஸ்வரங்களுக்குள் எண்ணில் அடங்கா
பாடல்களை இசையமைத்தவர்

நீராருங் கடலுடுத்த என்று
தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்திலும்
தமிழுக்கும் அமுதென்று பேரில்
தமிழ் அன்னையை இசையில்
அலங்கரித்ததிலும்
தமிழுக்கு பெருமை சேர்த்தவர்

புல்லாங்குழல் கொடுத்த மூங்கிலில்
கண்ணனையும் கண்ணதாசனையும்
உள்ளத்தில் நல்ல உள்ளம் என
கர்ணனையும் அறிய வைத்தவர்

சிந்து நதியின் இசையிலும்
இந்திய நாடு என் வீடு பாடல்களிலும்
நாட்டுபற்றை போற்றியவர்

நினைத்தாலே இனிக்கும் பாடல்கள்
பல சொல்லத் தான் நினைக்கிறேன்
விடைகொடு எங்கள் நாடே என்று
இந்த மண்ணில் இருந்து விடைபெற்றாலும்
மழைத்துளியாய் மண்ணில் சங்கமித்தாலும்
இவர் இசையில் உருவான பல
பாடல்கள் நம் நெஞ்சம் மறப்பதில்லை
