Hi Neha,

You can refer to the given link:-

http://www.guilfordortho.com/postpartumbackpain.htm

I think the pain could be due to partial anathesia on the spine. I don’t know if same is the case with you, but mostly the spinal anathesia leads to back problems in the post partum. This could be one of the reasons.

You can consult your gynaec or go to a good orthopedic which will help you in the long run.

Neha,

Just one more suggestion.

Kindly stop using heels for may be for a year. Use preferably flat shoes or chappals for your walks. This will help you in a long run. I am doing the same.

Postpartum backpain has several reasons
As Lee said it might be because of anaesthesia given to spine.
The lower back muscles could be tight from lying on the operating room table or from the surgery itself. Your abdominal muscles have been stretched beyond belief during your pregnancy which can make your back pain worse.
This is also can be sciatica which is caused due to epidurals given during delivery time. The best remedy is Simple relaxing excersises as suggested by Lee. If its severe, chk with your gynic.

One more suggestion is take ample rest.I also had severe back pain, like i felt it will break any moment. Then i realized that my rest was v less.I started slowing down and just lay down, that helped me a lot.

Hi Neha,

As many suggested do take enough rest. After my parents left while my daughter was 4and 1/2 months,i started doing lot of work, less sleep.

Daily i had severe pain, i couldn't stand for a while or feed my baby, i get tears some time...

Myhubby keep insisting me to reduce my cooking works, take care of baby thats enough. Inspite of that i keep doing with pain, finally it got worse.

I myself slowly started to reduce, i really felt much better, now touch wood i don't get often, but when i do more cooking for guest standing hours together...i do get, if i take good rest next day it disappears.

Here main solution is enough rest....take care of your health.

NEHA,

I just dropped in to say that ask your gynaec again about brufen, that too when i assume you must be BF. (brufen is not recommended these days unless there is too much pain.) do you go to the kims/american hospital.

When I complained about the back giving me pain, my doctors said it was generally in the mind of the patient. .
but i suspect it is because of the anesthesia.

I had both c-section, my first was spinal Ane..and the second i said i am not going in for a spinal, it was done on local.

This is what i will say, take lots of rest. just give hot/cold ferments. if you feel tired, just fill your hot water bottle from the geyser(which you would anyway be switching to wash dishes/bath) and give compress while lying down. the tingling sensation is when your body is asking for rest. pay heed to it.

Lie straight, pay more attention on the posture, and definitely on how you lift your kids.

Go for sloan's. i feel that relieves pain better.
