Ofcourse!!! my li’l girl

I saw a cute little girl in the park.
I thought "what a happy-go-lucky childhood she has"
Such a devil may care attitude about life,
But then I realize, I was the same like her, but not any more.
She too will grow up someday, & think the same
Becoming someone's sister, mother, or wife.



When I saw that little girl's innocence & blamelessness,
I thought, she is unaware of what future got in store for her,
This bliss of life will soon be fading with worries and struggles.
With many villains around, she would be facing so much of trouble.



When I saw that little girl playing merrily,
I thought, she is soon gonna be a part of this cruel world.
Where every step towards her goal would be either questioned or objected
Where she will lose her freedom, simply because she is a girl.



When I saw that little girl grinning cheerfully,
I thought, someday she would forget to smile,
Her dreams would be scattered,
And all she could do is sit alone, curse this world feeling frustrated.
And write a poem about how unfair life is for a girl.





When I saw that little girl asking me to join her,
I thought, what if somebody saw me playing with a kid?
"Log kya kahenge" had already taken away a hell lot of fun.
Not anymore. I’ll do what makes ME happy, NOT the society.
I won’t comprise on my happiness simply for being a girl,
I gave her a playful nod, and said Ofcourse!!! My gal
