A month back, my husband's cousin who is undergoing Montessori Training sought help from me. She wanted me to write two rhymes... the kinds little kids are taught in school. IT had to be original and very creative.
"Bhabhi, I can not think of anyone else to help me out," she said.
Vanity, thy name is Bhabhi!
I had to agree. It was sheer torture. I have torn off dozens of sheets of paper in frustration. Finally I did two. Am sharing with my friends, since she might have finished her project and submitted her work. It sounds corny, even to my own ears, so I can understand if you wince as you read this!
Little Sparrow on the Wall Little sparrow on the wall, Can you hear your babies call? Look for crumbs, quick, peck at worm, Let it wiggle, hold it firm. In the nest they tweet and squeak, Are they hungry, small and weak? Mama’s gone out hunting food, For her hungry little brood. Little sparrow on the wall, Your hungry babies loudly call, Take your mouthful to your nest, Feed your babies, then you can rest. Squeaky Squirrel on the Tree Squeaky squirrel on the tree, Will you come and play with me? You can race me up the yew, Down its trunk, I’ll chase you. You can hide and I can seek, I’ll close my eyes, try not to peek. We can jump and skip and hop, From branch to branch we can drop. Let us look for nuts and fruits, Yummy tubers from the roots, When Winter spreads its snow-white sheet, We can have a hearty treat.
Sigh! I am no professional, I can see... Blogging about things that concern me is my cup of tea... Not Versifying or writing rhymes!
